Certification will involve principals documenting two improvement initiatives that they are leading in their school.
Candidates will select tangible examples of their leadership impact and write a reflective analysis which unpacks the significance of this evidence and tells the story of their leadership within their school.
Candidates will then submit evidence of their practice and the associated reflective analysis for assessment against published criteria which are mapped to the Australian Principal Standard, as set out by the Australian Principal Standard.
To permit evidence triangulation, candidates will submit the questionnaire and consolidated data from the two most recent years from student/parent/teacher satisfaction evaluations undertaken as part of the State and Territories Government requirements.
Generating, analysing and documenting evidence and reflecting on practice will require intellectual work. Because it is based on aspects of the work a principal is undertaking within his/her school, the certification process itself will be contextually relevant and developmental professional learning.
