National event - Students experienced being the Principal

More than 300 students from 176 schools across Australia experienced life on the other side when they became a “Principal for a Day”.
Primary and secondary student principals took part on such tasks as running an assembly, lesson or staff meeting, interviewing a retired principal or school board member or conducting a safety audit. They also took part in an online student conversation as part of a Principal’s Hot Seat webinar.
Student Principal for a Day (sp4d) is the culmination of a campaign to unleash and inspire leadership qualities in students across Australia, and is coordinated by Principals Australia Institute (PAI).
Participating students shared their experiences by recording short videos and sharing them online. They were encouraged to record reflections on how they found life in the Principal’s chair and what’s important about leadership.
